• Holy shit that has to qualify for one of the most boring sessions of F1 in all of history. The highlights were some drivers washing wide over the gravel with 0 consequences. At one point a bit of a car fell off! Two drivers got penalised for track limits, again 0 consequences.

Verstappen was trying to do something, but it’s almost impossible to pass and his tyres gave up pretty quickly after that. Yuki showed he does have some pace (after being fired as the rumours go), only to make a rookie mistake on track limits.

I’m sure Hamilton is crying in a corner somewhere, they completely changed his setup so he could go testing for quali and the race and his lap times were awful. Hopefully they can do something in the next few hours or they are in trouble.

    • I’m sure it’s fun to drive and it’s got a lot of technical corners, so qualy later will be pretty exciting. But yeah any track with this much high speed cornering will be a huge problem for the current cars with their huge dirty air sensitivity and massive amount of aero wash. Suzuka is an amazing track but had identical issues for the same reasons.

        • I think the Vegas wet qualy with full wets randomly being used in the desert takes it for me, but yeah this was also a banger!

          • Good point. A lot of this year’s races have been pretty dull tyre management exercises but the qualifying sessions have largely been mega the whole season since all teams one lap pace started to converge

  • Processional 19 laps. Extremely disappointed after the Austin and Sao Paolo sprints.

  • What a terrible sprint race at a garbage race track.

At least the tire deg is so extreme it’ll be a multi stop race for everyone, but I don’t expect better racing

  • Ah clumsy from Tsunoda to get a 5s penalty for track limits. He was in a good P5 with a few points.
