join forces to do what?
bluesky is a twitter clone, it’s not a comment board or link aggregator.
One use case: get posts from sports commentary that are on Bluesky and cross-post them to relevant communities. Half of reddit’s NBA posts is just someone taking tweets from NBA reporters and posting there for discussion. With the bluesky integration, I could see this being done very easily.
That’s fair. The R-site does not have any ATProto clone yet, is that correct? Lemmy is still mostly a ghost town for non-techie discussion. As I understand it, Bluesky is already a moderately successful replacement for Twitter. My general point is that we cannot afford a 3-way struggle between corporate social media, ATProto and the fediverse (i.e. ActivityPub). There just isn’t enough attention to go round.
It does in Nooki, but it’s not really active at all.
