Ok I finally remembered to check a Mac. Just after a fresh imaging it was using 5.8gb of ram. Latest version of Tahoe. Not quite the 8gb I claimed but after usage I can see it beinf 6/7gb with nothing major open.

How is it different you have absolutely no idea how this will be implemented. Currently IOS and Android default to cloud storage and we know how many users stray away from the defaults. Both devices already check your photos against the CSAM database and scan your local photos so you can search via tags like “cat” and it shows all cat photos. Who knows, it may be local AI and completely private.

Do they actually know how the technology works? They will have to scan everything inbound and outbound connections, basically managed devices.

OP do you know how technology works? Apple and google already do this to a degree. We’ve seen people get reported to the police for taking pictures of their own kids nude because photos are scanned on upload to icloud or google’s photos. This isnt new its an expansion of existing norms

The author is right and wrong. Its subsidised but not by anthropic. The power users who use their plans to the limit are subsidised by the rest of the users. Im an AI hater but I do think anthropic will be profitable next year. Their revenue growth is insane and looks to just be getting started. Claude code took enterprise by storm and now cowork is out.

Off topic but isnt KDE Neon a test distro? if I recall its maintained by 1 guy and its purpose was a KDE demo environment. How do people end up putting new users on these obscure alpha distros.

You got to give MMOs a good go and I really wanted to like Gw2 as a massive fan of Gw1. When it was brand new I finished the game in about 300hr and played PVP and WvW. I then returned a few times for the DLCs to see if I could find enjoyment.

Even though I really did not enjoy the 600/700 hours I put into gw2 I still have high hopes for gw3 and will likely buy it. The art and world alone is just so beautiful, the character dress up is great, pvp is great (please release with Aussie servers this time Anet)

Subsiding and supporting domestic EV manufacturing while tariffing Chinese EV’s which are also subsided heavily is politically intelligent. He isnt hurting the EV transition. He wanted it to happen and he wanted to retain the manufacturing capability and jobs.

What trump did is the stupid version, removing EV subsides and tarrifing Chinese EVs.

At the end of the day EV or no EV doesnt matter china is polluting the planet so much we’ll never ever undo the damage. We are past the point of no return and Indian still hasnt industrialised.
