11 daysWe’ll see. Boycotting a $1000+ digital only console will be easier than boycotting a $70 game. Will millions buy it? Of course. But shareholders don’t just want SOME of the money, they want ALL of the money. It needs to sell many tens of millions.

11 daysThat just strengthens your claim that the graphics are weak.

11 daysI’m surprised that they haven’t brought up the negative environmental effect of producing compact discs and enclosures as an excuse.
They’re still planning to release empty cases with codes in the box for retailers, so that tells you how much of a shit they give about that. Dunno if that will continue with PS6, though.

11 daysIs there anyway to backup our games purchased on Steam?
Yes, you can copy the install folders and saves for them. Some can be modified to run without Steam fairly easily, some will need more involved cracks. Generally it’s easier to just redownload the whole game cracked and move your save files over.

11 daysThe PS5 probably won’t see any noticeable decrease in game sales, because pretty much everyone who wants one already has one, but I’ll be interested to see if gamers call Sony’s bluff for the PS6 or not.

Yes, in every country. But they’ll make billions all the same.

16 daysI haven’t seen that particular phrase singled out as being super common with LLMs before, so I was just remarking on it.

16 daysYou’ve hit the nail on the head.
This phrase is VERY popular with LLMs, I’ve noticed.
Cancelling PS Plus would be a much better move. I only use my PS5 for YouTube nowadays, so I won’t be participating since I have to log in for that. But I won’t be playing any games on it or buying anything.

19 daysBetter line than the “owning, stealing” one. Pirating has never been stealing, anyway, but copyright infringement.

21 daysAs far as the expansions go, Heart of Stone is okay, mostly more of the same, which isn’t a bad thing, but Blood and Wine is as big as a whole other game. Prossibly the best expansion ever, in my opinion.

21 daysIt’s better than the vast majority of games released today and still looks really good. Highly recommend it IF you like open world RPGs as it’s pretty much the gold standard.

22 daysI got my LCD Steam Deck in April 2025 for $400 in reaction to Nintendo’s Switch 2 reveal being so terrible at the time. Times change. Valve charging $300 more for the SD spooked me and I got a Switch 2 while it’s still $450. I figured I won’t getting any more gaming hardware for a long time, so I might as well get the last decently affordable console for the foreseeable future. In retrospect, getting that SD was the best timed gaming purchase I ever made.

23 daysReplace ESO with Starfield, since that was actually developed by the same people. And it’s worse than ESO!
