14 daysI know that there is a need for USB-A for some (most?) people, but for people like me, it’s a blocker. I want to buy these Linux-first laptops, but won’t do it. I have very few things that still need USB-A and most of those things are either connected to my desktop screen and accessed using USB-C hub or connected to USB-A power adapter.
At least you can configure it not to have USB-A port. The other Linux-first manufacturers all think we’re in the time just when USB-C came out and all your devices where still USB-A, so a least include three USB-A ports!!!

Depends on if the stock will continue to go down… recover what can be recovered before it’s too late. It’s a risk both ways
In my young days, I would Norton Defrag the hell out of DOS and later Windows. Just watching it work was relaxing. And I probably didn’t know what else to do other than playing games.

Ran into someone complaining about the same with Edge and updates going to every 4 weeks. Showed them the release log where they have been releasing one to two times a week - minor updates but still updates that require the browser to be restarted but that the person never noticed.
I will invest my time elsewhere. Boring is good, Debian Stable all the way.
Haha, you sound like my boss… it only takes 10 minutes. If you want to really try it out and not just, more or less, boot it, then it takes more time. And right now in my life, 10 minutes is a lot and does not include getting ready to spent 10 minutes.
So fa, I have had big differences between running in a VM and on actual hardware.
The wind itself isn’t converted into electricity. The turbine extracts kinetic energy from the moving air and converts a portion of that energy into electrical energy. As a result, the air leaving the turbine is moving more slowly than the air entering it.
That’s what I said, just without mentioning all the stuff in between - I’m sure that there’s cables and other boring details involved as well ;-)
Just to add a little anecdotal story, our solar panels were quite good at getting rid of snow. It took a little while after the sun come up but once a little bit of the panels were exposed, it started to go fast.
Try slapping a nuclear plant on the side of a dam :) Solar can be installed so many places but of cause, needs help (like batteries, wind turbines, other power generation) to deliver power when the sun is not around.
Some of the wind is converted into electricity, so the wind is reduced. Might not be a lot, but it could have some kind of an impact.
He even hints to it being the case for any LTS distribution. This could be problematic for companies that might want to use LTS for their machines.

Agree! I was disappointed when I switched my work laptop from a Windows laptop to a Mac. Nice hardware, nice battery life, nice integration with my iCloud/phone. Some things you have to get used to. Others are, in my mind, idiotic stuff (I’m looking at you, Task Switcher, third party mouse support, and keyboard troubles when remoting to Windows servers, weird keyboard shortcuts, just to name a few).
Overall it’s better than Windows but it just have some other quirks that I never thought would be a problem/challenge. I’ve gotten used to most and found solutions others most, but still got the biggest issue with the keyboard on remote servers.
I remember a magazine from before I moved from my parents house, with years of the Linux desktop - this would precisely be start 2000s.
Maybe, if the EU keeps it’s current will to change from American (or other non-EU) vendors to local, then Linux is the preferred choice. It’s already happening for public offices a lot of places. Hopefully this will spread the word and more people will adapt it for private computers. However, I want to see it happen before I believe it.
You mean that OS X lost a lot of users to… macOS.
