        Yup. If you really need to check something on there, there is an extension for your browser (Chrome and Firefox) that will redirect you to an alternative privacy-friendly frontend. https://libredirect.github.io/

                          I have the continuum client literally only to view articles. I don’t post, comment or otherwise participate. A lot of research I do keeps returning Reddit threads and I just need the safest way to view them. Otherwise I’m blocked for my security measures.

                              Interestingly, while they do block vpns, they don’t seem to be able to block the libred instance I run on the same IP address as my VPN.

                                  Yes, that’s because libred looks like an Android mobile app to Reddit. Content doesn’t get blocked of on there, no matter what your IP address is.

                                          Its a bit of extra work to get on some chrome based browsers but it works great once you have it set.

                                                        Sometimes yes in my experience, but mostly it works fine. I suspect it’s a game of whack-a-mole with VPN companies constantly rotating IPs.

                                                                  If you use tor, the browser will suggest the site when you get on a Reddit page, at least using old Reddit, if you don’t have the suggestions turned off in settings ( by default they are on)

                                                                  I have not used Reddit it in two years , but it used to work ok in tor onion URL

                                                                  I get this issue about 60% of the time I click on a reddit link with ProtonVPN. Though for some reason this week I’ve had no issues, but the past month I kept needing to server hop.
