Considering the US is 3 or 4 as a whole, I’m not sure that breaking out the individual states really does any good here.

What this chart doesnt tell you is that the us has 25% of the worlds incarcerated population and only ~3% of the worlds population total. Kind of makes whatever is happening in south america small potatoes
