Dude, don’t want to make you feel old, but 25 years ago was 2000…
It would be rather something like over 30 years ago.

Not to mention the phrases that probably never were used before cellphones.
Saying “I will text you!” would have been a really weird statement just 50 years ago…
lf something went actually wrong they might ask to perhaps blame it on me.
And I would be able to answer “yes” without lying.
For me it was the weekly telephone song votings on the radio.
They often deliberatly put niche stuff in there up for vote that then stuck with me :-)
That would rather be the equivalent to “Bravo Hits 18” (or whatever they were called in other countries)
Better than having to buy 4 complete albums just to get the 5 popular songs you actually wanted to listen to.
Solution to a problem from “back in the olden times”
Thanks! Seems that ClamTK has just been a GUI-Wrapper around ClamAV anyway…
And as I am only interested in installing, and not actually using, CLI-only is also fine!
Just discovered that ClamTK is no longer maintained…
So I am also interested in alternatives to still be able to appease my bank.
l have installed ClamTK, but just because my bank has explicitly written in its terms of use that “an antivirus program has to be installed on the PC used for online banking.”
So I installed one to comply. But that’s it…
Vivaldi… does that have a full uBlock addon? I thought it was based on Chrome, which doesn’t have that any more?
Firefox and Librewolf.
Firefox has it at or near top of recommendations.
Librewolf already has it preinstalled from the start, so even one step less.
You search for it? Why?
I remember it basically always being the top entry as soon as I open the browsers addon menu.
Part of what you describe (sans the transfer thing) sound like the main plotline of Bladerunner.
Ah yes, sure, Begriffsassoziativitätskombinatorik.
(Yes, I just made that word up. And also yes, it makes sense and might be the word describing what you were just thinking about.)
Depends. I like it, but it lures you into lazy naming of stuff, that being especially pronounced in state administration.
And written form is hell to comprehend for dyslexics…
It’s missing an “e” at the end…
And yes, I heard the German language is supposed to be full of such special-purpose words (and if not, we construct fitting new ones by endless concatenation)
So I guess, I am the lucky one in this thread. :-)
One a scale ranging from 1 to 10:
How high are you right now?
ls this showing actual measurements or simulations?
Either way: Pretty cool, order within chaos.
Also got my first cellphone in 2000, but I was kind of a Luditte, mobile-phone-wise at least.
Everybody around me were already texting happily to each other, so I had to relent at some point… :-)
