Wow resetting every few months must have been a lot of work… I never had the courage to do fresh Windows installs often, especially considering how long it took after every install to manually go through each setting, each pre-installed program and each service to manually clean everything up, and with each new Windows version a lot more crap to clean up 😭

Well I do use AliExpress because most of the stuff on Amazon is dropshipped from there anyway so I might as well get it cheaper, it has a lot more stuff than Amazon and more variety, and their website isn’t as awful as Amazon’s and actually makes it easy to find what you want instead of a chore, but I really wouldn’t recommend it for privacy either 😅

• Your new oven mittens are quite nice, the blue goes well in your kitchen.

Rice cooker saved my life. I add whatever I have lying around that doesn’t require cooking like ham, pickles, canned veggies or fruits, fresh or dried fruits, etc, and if I’m feeling fancy I might boil eggs. Plus mushroom sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, or soy sauce. If you can find black rice in asian supermarkets it’s even better.

When the tabs use too much RAM I just pkill waterfox and restart it, so the tabs are still there but not loaded, I assume it would to the same ?

Don’t worry they say they’ll shove AI in it so it’s definitely our world

yeah my problem is not with having a standard, but with choosing USB-C for it instead of something better.

I get that USB-C was probably the more pragmatic choice since it already existed and a lot of devices were already using it. But I’m still team “Let’s make a new good standard rather than use one that’s just okayish”

After further reflection, the hill I’ll die on is that we should replace ALL types of USB by barrel jacks, not only USB-C. Cause circular connectors rule! Make a standard one, I don’t care, as long as I never have to plug a USB-A three times to find the right way.
