I signed up to the subscription but have now cancelled, a lot of the features I used are just broken now, I would have happily paid for the old app, but their update is not worth anything.

Another vote for immich here, works great and let’s me shade albums with other accounts on my server.

I’m in the same boat here, I watch on my TV through a Roku and I don’t think there are any options for ad blocking.

I use the community maintained docker container from https://github.com/nextcloud/docker

It’s separate containers for all the services, if you scroll down the readme you’ll find the compose file they recommend to start you out.
