11 monthsThe scientists claim this identifier, a pattern derived from Wi-Fi Channel State Information, can re-identify a person in other locations most of the time when a Wi-Fi signal can be measured. Observers could therefore track a person as they pass through signals sent by different Wi-Fi networks – even if they’re not carrying a phone.
Are there any scientists out there working in stuff that’s useful and beneficial to society? Or are they all just focusing on sneaky shit that makes it easier for The Man to make our life worse?

In the US at least the cuts to beneficial scientific research have been devastating. New grads are already looking to work for evil corporations rather than take a chance in the hellscape of academic publically funded research.

I was wondering how many sensors it took to detect these signatures. The paper demonstrates its possible to detect with a single 3 antenna router.
