The United States is greatly expanding the use of a “biometric exit” program, whereby travelers have their photo taken on departure.
“US citizens can opt out and request to be verified manually by showing their passport, and undergoing a visual face comparison. However, it seems this is being discouraged, with some travelers stating that officers told them they’d have to wait until everyone else boarded, in order to be able to do that.”
Whatever still worth it to decline. Boarding early is really not any kind of perk
It depends on if you have a carry on. It’s stressful boarding with no more overhead bin space available. The airline will likely make you check your carry on bag if you board towards the end, which means waiting at baggage claim.
This may be a perk to some, but a lot of people don’t like checking their luggage.
