TIL: About electric scissors

design-encyclopedia.com English

I was watching this video about a bad sponsorship experience involving an electric scissor product. I didn’t know they were a thing!

    Electric Scissors
    design-encyclopedia.com
Electric scissors are handheld cutting tools that are powered by electricity. They are designed to make cutting tasks easier and more efficient, especially for people who have difficulty using traditional manual scissors due to arthritis or other physical limitations. Electric scissors work by using a motor to power the blades, which move back and forth rapidly to cut through materials such as paper, fabric, and even thin metal. Electric scissors come in a variety of sizes and styles, from small handheld models to larger, more powerful ones that are designed for heavy-duty cutting tasks. Some electric scissors are corded, meaning they need to be plugged into an electrical outlet to work, while others are cordless and run on rechargeable batteries. Cordless electric scissors are often more convenient to use because they can be used anywhere without the need for an electrical outlet. One of the main advantages of electric scissors is that they can cut through materials much faster and with less effort than manual scissors. This makes them ideal for people who need to do a lot of cutting, such as seamstresses, quilters, and crafters. Electric scissors are also safer to use than manual scissors because they require less force to cut through materials, reducing the risk of hand and wrist injuries. Overall, electric scissors are a useful tool for anyone who needs to do a lot of cutting and wants to save time and effort. With their powerful motors and sharp blades, they can make cutting tasks easier and more efficient, while also reducing the risk of injury.

We had some in the 70s that were so loud and hilarious. They cut stuff though. That’s for sure.
