• If you manage to get your hands on the Playboy PDF full dump, the articles contain stuff very similar OPs quote.

Not sure about old timer Playboy’s but the mid to late 2000s have quite a few incredible articles. Lots of them are future predictions by various in the know type individuals. I notice some articles and or “write ups” had zero editorial oversight. None. It makes for some refreshingly honest opinions. No holds bar essentially. Some of the tech predictions are mind blowing.

The “nudy pics” are an annoyance. Given today’s pron desensititation, the air brushed titties and mia bushed out vaginas are weak af, not to mention the lack of “moving pictures”. I just scroll past them along with the ads until I reach another article section.

      • I wish I could get a bunch of these printed out, it’s hard on my eyes attempting to read on these goddamn black mirrors.

      • Just pulled this from September 2001, I imagine it came out before 9/11. It’s a fictional story based on Timothy Mcveih.

        "PUZZLE MAN

WHEN A SOLDIER DIES WITH HIS SECRETS

I am not crazy, no matter what people say. I have valid reasons for everything I did, and I am at peace. My complete story will never be told, but when my heart is stopped by Uncle Sam’s pherma-ceuticals, my spirit will ascend like a white balloon over the Wabash River and fly up to heaven. God will welcome me into his house, saying, “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You followed your beliefs end acted on them. You have been a steadfast patriot to your cause, and I hereby place you at my right hand.”

Life isn’t so difficult here, but I do face a few problems. Especially when I try to sleep, because the children always appear in my dreams and ask me to play with them. They have Tonka toys and coloring books and Nerf balls, and they pull me toward the puzzle that lies scattered on the big table in the day care center.

That puzzle bothers them a lot. They want to complete it. They circle around it and ask me for help. “What is it supposed to be?” they ask me. They laugh and push the pieces of the puzzle around on the table and look at me with hopeful eyes. And at that moment in my dreems, I know these children are alive and at play in the fields of eternity.

        FICTION BY ASA BABER"

  • If any Scientology member is in any media, it is on my “do not watch” list. I will never support that cult financially. And by the way, where is Shelley? She was last seen 2007 at her fathers funeral, and the police doesn’t do shit.

  • He also sucks the life out of nearly every role he’s cast in (the one pictured above being a rare exception.) The guy is a walking void of charisma, and I avoid his movies due to the simple fact that they’re made worse by his involvement.

    • Edge of tomorrow - he is fine in that perfect movie
Tropic Thunder - he is hilarious
      rain man
      the last samurai
      minority report
magnolia - perfect fit for the role

you don’t HAVE to hand it to Tom Cruise. You certainly CAN, but by no means are you required to.

      • You should read “all you need is kill”. Edge of tomorrow butchered the book. The same happens with Minority Report.

        • No one makes Philip K Dick movies that are true to the book, but they often make interesting movies inspired by the book.

          • It always bugs me when they make one of his books into a movie because there never is a reason to cut the important parts out. I would understand if the books were long, or had concepts that are too difficult to bring to the screen. Instead its cut because no one wants movies you have to think about.

              • The one silver lining I guess is that when people say “you really should read the book” with PKD stories they end up being so different that they really feal like a different story. They tend to not have the Green Lantern Effect where the movie ruins the original story for you.

                • Yeah, spoilers don’t quite work because he is always so out there! They took some little different thing and ran with that instead of the full crazy. I feel like Terry Gilliam would have made good PKD movies. He gets insanity.

  • This is one of the Mandela effect things, where the correct title (well, right now, in this universe) is the vampire. Where does this image come from?!

    • I saw one of the mission impossible movies on an airplane because I don’t know before I realized it had Tom Cruise and I think a lot of the appeal of those movies is watching Tom Cruise('s stunt double) get hurt, but I can suspend disbelief for long enough to watch the stunt dude get hurt and then go watch something else. Stunt dude did all right.
