I mean the question got an answer, so either feeding the trolls, or popcorn moment.
… Either way I’ve got my popcorn.

Given all the fun I’ve had over the years with far less powerful systems, it’s not exactly a deathknell to gaming if it turns out that way.
It just better be the deathknell for terrible mobile game microtransaction structures and p2w schemes if mobile devices become the new norm…

I guess I’m responding more to your insinuation than the carry-on from OP’s post.
I could see Hollywood cosigning on anti-pedo “revenge porn”, but definitely not “eat the rich” stuff. (at least more than the vapid “Lex Luthor bad” style of useless ‘eat the rich’ stuff they always do)

Has been for a while. See all of the “low budget” movies that have been kicking ass over the last few years.

Nah, most of Hollywood is the rich that deserve eating. They’ll never cosign to such propaganda.

“with foresight”
My brother in christ, they put an “AI” shithead in charge. They practically by definition cannot have foresight.

Gaming is in a great place. AAA gaming is not, because of-fucking-course corpos don’t understand art.

Maybe they really do live in a world where these things are interchangeable.
This exactly. Learning programming was a HUGE hit to my understanding and trust of myself.
Most people don’t go through the visceral experience of seeing how shitty the human experience lines up with reality. Such people absolutely believe in bullshit for the simple reason that it feels correct.

ELIZA effect for “AI”, too.
Turns out most people are too fucking stupid to actually perform a Turing test.
Fully agreed with that.
In fact, such regulations really need to go a lot further and make illegal straight up unnecessary subscriptions, too. If something doesn’t need actively maintained things outside of the actual product for it to function, then it doesn’t ‘need’ a subscription model.
