If that were the case it would be at 96%
Definitely!!
The ones still there would never leave it
What’s there to understand?
Starting off way too obtuse and disconnected from reality to have a conversation. Later.
I have used others and to me nothing else has the right blend of stability, performance, good defaults, and ability to customize. Boost is best on android.
I think it’s less about ux and more about being confused. People aren’t faking being confused. I’m pretty tech savvy but had to do a double take. Still don’t fully understand the nuances of federation after over a year and a half. I don’t really need to understand all of it though.
I don’t really want them here, but I’d rather them be here than on reddit. Reddit is more toxic than this place and a lot of that comes top down. At least here people can spin off an instance the minute admins/mods act like dicks. There, the culture just gets worse and festers and it contributes to toxicity in the world outside itself. Imagine if the r/theDonald pricks have been ostracized and started their own instance which most instances defederated with quickly.
Vscode. I am surprised to see a lot of people still use sublime text. I was a long hold out on that one but it’s just so much worse than vscode in every way.
Sounds cryptic and likely meaningless
Yeah, possibly. Depends – if the data is federated between instances (which I assumed) you could have access to the whole world’s market and it would still be useful if there was a feature that allowed you filter out locations you’re not currently interested in.
Etymology From German über (“above”, preposition), which is also used as a prefix (über-); cognate with over. Entered English through Nietzsche’s use of the word Übermensch. Doublet of over, super and hyper.
No one is saying you cannot have a good German name. Uber is an American company. Shit company but great name. Comes from German and translates to other linguistic communities fairly well
But telling a friend about this starts with the name. Simple names are easier. And that would just start with making it short. Single syllable being best.
Op has a point. Even English names that succeed internationally are somewhat bound by the ability of speakers of other languages to spell and pronounce the name. Y’all are here acting like what they’re saying is hateful or something…
Pop OS is excellent. You wouldn’t really know it’s created by a corporation. It’s basically just the build they run on their hardware but I’ve not seen anything in it like ads or anything limiting my freedom. My perception of it is that it’s just a more friendly and (snap-free) Ubuntu and I concur with those saying Nvidia is smoother on it. It does have a modified gnome but coming in the near future is their own DE called cosmic which seems promising. If it ends up being bad I will probably just switch to fedora even though Debian based distros are more supported. Been loving fedora on my new laptop
Is this thread hysterical? I don’t think so. Only saw like 3 people saying they would see this as a sign to stop patronizing the company, which makes sense to me entirely. You might be misreading the tone here.
…this is their CEO. “One of their employees” couldn’t possibly be more unrepresentative here.
His insinuation that Democrats are supported by big business is also fairly defensible
The truth comes out. You think this is a “both sides” thing, and you agree with it.
No, what’s being said ITT is that he’s praising trump prematurely and people don’t want to support a business run by people who do that. Incredibly simple, and might I add, logical.
