The lock screen and display manager are two separate pieces of software. The display manager runs before a user profile has been selected for graphical login, so it does not have access to your user desktop/display settings

I bought the game, tried to fly into the nearest star, and found out that it was just a part of the skybox. Immersion ruined :(

Idk about the lack of repairability, those things are really easy and cheap to fix in my experience. They are at least no less repairable than 95% of laptops on the market.
