I think the big difference is that you can use it for free without any account needed, and all your data is stored locally in a format that remains accessible to alternative apps.
So the moment they start doing questionable stuff you are not a hostage to their app. There are alternatives, they are just not as nice as this currently.
Innertune and its fork with the same name haven’t been able to play music for me since weeks. Just cached and downloaded tracks.

Interesting, but also bizarre. I mean, you don’t buy the Steam Deck for the hardware, the portability with controllers, trackpads and so on is the main thing about it. Or is the hardware cheap for what it is? Can just buy one of those mini pcs and put Bazzite on it instead.
