“Bashing” Linux phones by saying they’re buggy and won’t be ready soon, which is literally true. Even PostMarketOS says the same thing on their website. I guess you’d prefer I gaslight people by saying Linux phones are awesome, let’s all switch to phones that barely work, lack any phone apps, have a terrible battery life, etc.

The Linux phones that exist today (including Pine Phone) are more like early dev kits. They have really weak specs, are incredibly buggy, lack all sorts of features you’d expect, and I’m not totally sure if you can even make calls through them because phone carriers require a verified device and proprietary tech to work.
There are efforts to get things in order but these will take maybe 10 years at this rate.


I’m guessing they’re going to hide it in developer tools with a bunch of warnings and no explanation on how to get there so regular users don’t turn it on by accident.


That’d be nice, but Linux on phones is still a pipe dream.

Moorwing filtered a lot of players because if you don’t move the flea caravan, it blocks the entrance to Bellhart. That change makes sense imo.
As for Sister Splinter, I’m not sure why they nerfed her. I guess some players got overwhelmed by the spawned enemies in phase 2.


I work in the industry. You’re pretty much right. I wouldn’t recommend people to get into the field unless you’re SUPER into making games and are okay with working way harder than others. That said, other tech jobs are also suffering right now, layoffs are way more common than they used to be throughout the entire field feels very competitive.

That’s… Kind of insane! I’ve been following Bitcraft every now since it got announced but I never expected them to go to this direction. The blog post makes sense but I’m curious what license they’re going to use. It could be a legal minefield to try and stop people from stealing the game, re-branding it, then profiting off of it.
It’ll be really curious to see how this plays out because there isn’t really any major games that went open source, much less one that’s going to be actively monetized like Bitcraft.
Our focus will be on a smooth and successful Early Access launch on Steam, which is our highest priority. Only once we are happy with the state of the game will we start the process of open sourcing BitCraft.
Anyway, it sounds like open-sourcing the game might take a while. I hope early access works out for them.


It doesn’t do anything by default, you have to go to settings > zen mods > click the settings icon next to the mod name.

If you set the options and nothing happened then I’m not sure, it worked for me instantly when toggling stuff off.


I’ve started using more Zen Mods recently too, the most important one I would say is Zen Context Menu - which lets you de-clutter the options when you right click anything. There are way too many options being shown when you right clicked the sidebar, but it’s a lot nicer to use now.

Most of them are spam or people testing their luck even though they’re underqualified since applying to jobs is usually just a click nowadays. Don’t worry too much about it.


I get people that make tutorials for “content” even if they suck at their job, but I CANNOT get over video tutorials where someone gets completely lost and doesn’t cut it out of the video.

We have a big conference every year where I live for the tech industry. It’s hit or miss depending on the person presenting, and it’s usually a miss. Many talks can last over an hour when they could’ve been a much shorter youtube video and are just there to pad time. Also 95% of the people are there for other motives. Looking for investors, trying to get hired, browsing the booths, etc. Despite being very crowded it’s very clear most of the people don’t actually care about the talks and do anything else on their phones.
I think in-person conferences can be great experiences when done right but I really got anything out of it. For all the talks about networking with others they give very little opportunities to do that. When everyone is looking for opportunities from other people it felt almost like a competition to try and talk with companies and important people, and it usually boils down to them asking for my contact info so they can flush it down the toilet. I don’t know, I just have a bad experience with them.
Microblogging has always sucked IMO. It’s always been more geared towards shouting your opinion and leaving, and it actively discourages any discussion by hiding reply threads and making it a nightmare to follow. Most people aren’t ready for this take, though…
