How I found critical vulnerabilities in Petlibro smart pet feeders allowing complete account takeover via broken OAuth, access to anyone's pet data, device hijacking, and private audio recordings - and how they're still leaving the auth bypass active for 'legacy compatibility' two months later.
Honestly, if you have the money, just get a Superfeeder. I have 2 of them for my cats and I love them.
Basically, they’re like an enterprise version of a consumer grade cat feeder. Completely no nonsense, all physical adjustments, and super customizable. I have them hooked up to my home assistant install (via smart plugs) to be able to better control when the cats get fed (because the little piggies would over eat if I let them) and ensure the automations run as expected (which is great for those with pet anxiety). I’ve had mine for 4 years (and 2 sets of kitties) now, and it’s a breeze to change settings when you have to change foods, if a bit fiddly to dial in how much you’re giving them.
I am happy with what I have but thanks for the recommendation!
All good, that was more a recommendation that was supposed to be at the top level
Glad you’re happy with your setup tho!
