An actor known for his roles on the comedy television shows “Bob’s Burgers” and “Mr. Show with Bob and David” has been arrested on charges that he joined a mob of Donald Trump supporters in confronting police officers during the U.S. Capitol riot. Court records show that Jay Johnston was arrested Wednesday in Los Angeles on charges including civil disorder, a felony. The FBI says video footage captured Johnston pushing against police and wielding a stolen police shield during the attack on Jan. 6, 2021. Johnston was the voice of the character Jimmy Pesto on Fox’s “Bob’s Burgers.” His credits also include parts on “Arrested Development” and “Anchorman."

    That is some attention to detail. The villains in that show are so authentic the actors who depict them are villains IRL.

    I had loved Jay Johnston ever since the Mr. Show days. Used to cheer when he popped up in things.

    Fucking traitor. I flip off the screen anytime he’s on now.

      It blows my mind that comedians, who are pretty much modern day jesters, are supposed to rip into nobility and the wealthy.

      And whenever I see them defending a billionaire, regardless of Trump, Musk, or whatever boogieman liberal billionaire… I just know they’re shitty at their job.

          It was spun up in 2013, so for nearly 30 years, it was part of News Corp. I’ve seen a video about this dichotomy in the past and I remember none of it

    Went down his filmography (and it’s a pretty long one) and didn’t find a single role I remember other than his supporting role on Bob’s Burgers.

    But I’m sure some of you TV and film guys will remember his other characters such as Cop, Young Cop, FBI Agent, Agent, FBI Agent, (wow FBI Agent must have been a real hit if they brought that character back multiple times in completely different TV shows) Mustachioed Cop and Police Officer #2, Various, and Various Roles. I’m guessing Various Roles is some sort villain character he played?

    I wonder if any of the real FBI agents who arrested him were like “You know Mr. Johnston, your portrayal of FBI agent is what inspired me to join the FBI?”
