This would be REALLY Corrupt if Elon Musk had donated a QUARTER BILLION DOLLARS TO TRUMP and then was Given a Government Oversight Position! FORTUNATELY Fox News told me that DIDNT happen!

ICE! ICE! LOOK AT THIS GUY! HE’S CLEARLY ANTI-AMERICAN AND UN-PATRIOTIC!
the clock is ticking before comments like this actually become serious.

Yup, and that sleazy ass pig Donald Trump is making the roads more dangerous. I’m sick of his fucking shit.

I didn’t even think about that. My adaptive cruise doesn’t even work in the snow because the sensor gets covered up. And I’m pretty sure that’s better tech than what Tesla uses.

will no longer have to report as much detailed, public crash information to the federal government
I feel like this is more incentive not to purchase one, than to purchase one

1 yearAll I can say is invest in 4k vehicle cameras. Get one facing one and one facing the rear. CYA for when these self-driving Teslas start crashing into everything.

give it a few months, and you won’t be allowed to sue tesla any more. i’m fucking serious.

Your going to need a body cam. The car isn’t too bad with others cars, it’s people and bikes and motorcycles it has real problems with.

I think the problem was they probably trained the AI on Americans driving normally i.e badly, Americans have zero lane discipline, every video I’ve ever seen of Americans driving is like an instructional video on how not to do it.

1 yearI have a Rove camera I got a few years ago. I want to get a second one for the back (I guess they sell a dual kit now).

Serious question: If I get hit by one of these death machines, who can I (or my next-of-kin) sue? Has that been established in court?
- pivot_root@lemmy.worldEnglish1 year
In a Musk-approved world:
- You’re hit by a Tesla in FSD mode, the driver gets sued for not driving.
- You’re hit by a fully autonomous Tesla taxi, you get sued for vandalism.
- You’re the driver and FSD hit someone, you get sued.
- You’re the owner and the car hits someone while you’re not in it, you get sued for owning it.
- You’re the owner and it catches fire with you inside, you(r estate) gets sued for “not maintaining it”.

In all cases, the warranty on the Tesla in question is immediately voided. And the odometer starts running 15% faster with every major incident.
MinnesotaGoddam@lemmy.worldEnglish
1 yearSerious answer: the owner of the vehicle is responsible for it. You sue the owner, their insurance, possibly your insurance, possibly tesla, possibly nobody. The best result is to walk away avoiding court with more money.

Well that’s convenient for the author maker / oligarch / unelected government squatter running the country. I guess every once in awhile things just turn up his way.

the neat thing about oligarchs is the betting odds that they’ll keep their heads

The boon here isn’t that it’ll allow them to bring a shoddy product to market. The boon is they’ll be able to continue milking investors by hiding the fact that they have no marketable product in this space while they keep selling off their stock.

Owning a tesler is embarrassing. Even in my deep red trump loving state, most people would never buy one.
