An alien abduction, but they just want to adopt a human pet and you get food and water and shelter and have no expectations except for to lounge around and get massages (pats).

Nobody is better off with any overlord, that’s why we’ve spent so much effort trying to invent satisfying and effective governance.

While this isn’t so serious and is genuinely a shower thought, this is the lazy “I am deluded that different = maybe better” thought process that actively ruins the world, so please put more effort into wanting the world to be something else or focus on something you can.

At this point I’d settle for any overlord that has a realistic plan.
