I was rewatching firefly for the Lasseter hoist episode and they described the buildings floating above the ocean as ocean views. It looks like they see nothing but ocean though.
It’s the same with Kamino, I think ocean views come from the land and see but maybe I’m wrong

Ocean views state that you are looking at the ocean. It’s mainly a marketing term for real estate.
I find the term to be quite literal and as long as you aren’t on an ocean going ship, it’s valid. Even for platforms in the open sea.
Why wouldn’t a ship count?
My opinion is that because it is a vehicle. Even if it is meant for habitation.
Don’t you buy rooms on ships with ocean views?
You Ocean view are correct because the term comes from real estate listings. Nobody says the beach or a cliff or a dock has an ocean view.
