4 monthsI’d rather they eat me than starve. If I died tonight it would probably be a few weeks before anyone noticed

I live with a bunch of people so at most it’d be a few hours. So I feel like that’d be a bit aggressive for my dog…

4 monthsNonsense the automatic feeder is good for at least a few weeks.

I forget where I read it, but cats are likely to eat you way faster. The dog, if it has a good bond, still will for survival, but feel bad about it and wait until it is starving. The cat is like “well, you’re meat now, don’t want to waste that”

4 monthsA cat wouldn’t wait until you were dead, but just weak enough that you can’t fight it off.

4 monthsThe cat is like, you’re dead now and you’re salty. I’ma eat you while you taste good. I raised my boy well.

AFAIK it’s because both animals will lick you in an attempt to wake you up, but cats tongues are so rough that they’ll break the skin after a bit, taste blood, then eat you

As a cat hater, I can agree fully! 😜

Yeah not sure I buy that the quickest a dog is known to eat their owner is 45 minutes. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0379073897001126

After your death, you will not notice if your dog eats you or not.
So: You can never know for sure ;-)

Most herbivores will eat meat, given the opportunity. Doesn’t make you wrong. In fact I think you understated it. I miss my rabbits.

So you planned alot of fun stuff with all that dead meat after you stop being you?
