Aww man, I was hoping to find a session of FFXI. Haven’t played that in ages.
Pass. It’s 4chan-/Xbox-Live-Generation Central. I do like the site design though. So thumbs up on that! It looks like the old Steam UI.]
Edit: I’m old I’ll see myself to the glue-factory.
Anyone gotten any good games out of this?
I know I can Google it, but uhhhhh I’m lazy and wanna help drive Lemmy engagement:
Wasn’t there a multiplayer Resident Evil game wherein you could get bit and become a zombie? But like… it was ahead of its time kinda because you needed 4(?)+ PlayStations on a LAN to play it?
I remember it looked fun, and iirc reviews said it was fun, but they gave it low reviews ‘cause of the hardware hurdle.
Anyways… did anyone ever mod that into a playable, non-LAN experience one can enjoy from their PCs? If so… I’d totally put up a game date on here for that.
I might go search for my own answer and edit it into this if my phone doesn’t die.
Edit: looks like there is a fan-made pc port of it, but getting it setup looks like a bit of a project. hmmmmm
Was that Outbreak? I have one memory of playing that (or something similar to it) as a kid, where my character was stuck in a state where I needed another player to help them up. I remember the computer controlled companion just saying the “no” voice line every time I called for help, until I ran out of time and died.
so that’s fun.
First thing I see when opening it is “BRO I RAPE KIDS (DISCORDALWAYSWINS)” what the fuck
Yeah… As someone who uses fightcade occasionally, moderation on these services when they’re non-federated are a real problem.
Last time I checked, WoW WotLK channel had some racist remarks by creator. I cant find channel now so most likely it is gone by now.
This is neat!
This is cool, maybe I can find a crew for Quake 3 instagib freeze tag with grapple hook enabled.
As an aside…If I wanted to host an event like this specifically for fediverse, where should one post it?
Let’s say I pre-pack a portable archive (so Linux users can easily just add the exe to Faugus/Lutris whatever too) for Halo Custom Edition with a bunch of maps and throw a dedi server up for a week as an example.
So not the .world instance which lied about allowing piracy after announcing they would IIRC.
Damn, this looks good! This is a huge coincidence: just a few days ago, I was hoping that something like this existed when another thread reminded me of Unreal 2’s long-dead multiplayer mode.
