My FPV goggles have no internal battery, they need to be run off a 2s-8s LiPo or 5v from a USB port. This lets me use a reasonably safe power supply instead of strapping a raw lipo to my body.

As @[email protected] mentioned, a helix is one way, but if you want to make it easy, just go to the Addon Manager and install the Fasteners Workbench.

Next iteration: flame-activated, spring-powered emergency eject system. Thinking of that Chinese EV that responds to thermal runaway by trying to take out bystanders with burning batteries. No witnesses, no embarrassing news story.
Mabe for my 4s drone, one good crash can turn it into Johnny Storm.

Have you considered sharing the design on Thingiverse or some other 3d model sharing site? Apologies if you do not prefer to give your work out for free.
I post most of the stuff I make to Thingiverse, this one was so niche I didn’t think any one would want it.
PETG, because it’ll likely get some direct sunlight. I would have used ABS but my venting window is snowed in.
Just keep in mind PETG isn’t strictly UV resistant. A later reprint with ASA would be better.
I was thinking of softening but that’s a good point. Ill probably do it in ABS if it fails in PETG.

Keep in mind that it is a not a tight fit by design, if you jog or run it will probably fall out.
This actually would be kind of neat as a backpack atrachment.
Would make more sense to put it where the mp3 player goes, and just route the charging cable out the headphones hole
Valid, but many backpacks don’t have those dedicated headphone holes. I was thinking of something that could clip to the shoulder straps (or I guess this existing design could be adapted for MOLLE-style rigging as well with a simple measurement).
