• It’s because they are screwed on, so after a certain amount of forwards driving, you’re meant to do a bit of reversing to screw them back up. TIs design didn’t work well in hindsight

      Yep ALL 173 cars sold!!
There’s a reason the Cybertruck sales aren’t public.

      • That’s only the rear wheel drive ones. There are still plenty of other idiots who were dumb enough to put down even more money for the prior more expensive variants.

Yes kind of, but that’s not the same as being public, but a report based on 3rd party information.

The official Tesla Cybertruck numbers are bunched together with Model S and Model X.
Which is also why the very poor sales of the cheaper model is news.

Didn’t they also run some giant sales scam in Canada to fraudulently claim tax credits for fake EV sales? Where they were claiming dealerships were selling like 200 cars a day?

            • 50 minutes

Yes indeed they did, and Tesla came under investigation and the tax deductions were withdrawn as fraudulent.
I am not aware of the result of the investigation, but I bet Tesla would have advertised it if they were cleared.

  • I think you should leave steering wheel guy

All I want is a good truck where the wheels don’t a fly off while you’re driving

  • Yes, Elon is a dick. But this is hardly novel. Car recalls related to wheel assembly issues are pretty common e.g. Mercedes and Toyota and plenty of others. In this case Tesla identified this strain based issue in preproduction testing but failed to apply the eco to production due to a management error and then discovered it in audits and then issued the recall. No accidents or even any definitive customer issues occurred from this. So now the customers just have to go in to the dealer for a fix, which is a pain but they still end up going in for service way less than with any ice. Hate Tesla all you want, but don’t fabricate garbage engineering outrage.
