      Based Mullvad, once again

I really wish I could use them but it never works with my streaming services. I’ve had to stick to Proton or NordVPN for reliable streaming :(

Even proton is super exposed to the web, I hate nord but they’re the only one I’ve ever used where you barely ever get captchas or broken apps

Me too, but I managed to make it work by trying different servers. For example for Japanese Netflix I use jp-osa-wg-004 instead of the default

Have you tried all the extra settings they have to bypass blockers? There’s a lot of ways to change things to get it to work.

It’s probably been a year or so since I’ve given Mullvad another try, so maybe it’s time I do that soon.

something that works for me is trying different servers until one gets through, i.e. it’s not in the site’s blocklist. Then I favorite that server and use it whenever I need that particular site

If only they allowed port forwarding

Agreed, but the reason why they stopped allowing it is fairly understandable. Would be nice if there was another way to still allow it but at the same time, prevent the sharing of abusive content, all while maintaining user privacy.

Other VPN providers still allow it even with abusive content - maybe you need a good legal strategy to avoid getting in trouble for the actions of your users

That’s the only reason I use PIA VPN instead of them.

When I read the post about that, my guess was that Mullvad would quickly work in it. I am happy to have been right.
