    “In January 1985, two armed men broke into Drescher and Jacobson’s Los Angeles apartment. While one ransacked their home, Drescher and a female friend were raped by the other robber at gunpoint. Jacobson was tied up and witnessed the ordeal. It took Drescher many years to recover, and it took her even longer to tell her story to the press.

    I was a kid when “The Nanny” was on, and it definitely didn’t fit my interest at the time.

    But going back and watching it years later , I developed some respect for Fran Drescher. She really is an impressive woman and comic.

      I’m with you. She’s especially great at physical comedy. Reminds me a lot of Lucille Ball in I Love Lucy. Not to mention, she’s a complete 90s fashion icon.

      Her later work as president of the Screen Actor’s Guild showing solidarity and striking with the writers made me a fan before I ever watched the show.

      Rape is about domination and low self worth. They need to be locked up to protect the public, put in therapy and rehabilitation if possible.

      she’s also heavily anticapitalist, is a cancer survivor and outspoken advocate for women’s early-screening for gynecologic cancer.

      and she’s also ordained as a minister to perform lgbtq weddings.

      its almost like humans are complex creatures and have both flaws and strengths.

      and that besides, why are you bringing up your points when this is about her being raped? that’s quite disturbing to me.

      is the point to say she deserves it? I’m trying to think of another reason why and coming up short.

      Wait, how is getting vaccinated but opposing the government forcing people to get vaccinated “antivaxx”?

      Sounds to me like she just wants her bodily autonomy to be respected… unsurprisingly, given the title of this post?
