Snapple sat on a throne of lies (the throne was also a lie)

  • The average human will eat an average of eight spiders a year while asleep.

is false. 2 things about that are great: That it is false, and that i now know who circulated this bullshit lol

It says average. Jimmy Spider-Snacker developed narcoleptic sleep eating and really affected the mean.

    • Spiders, of course, being notorious for liking small dark moist places devoid of the things they eat…

It’s weird to me that anybody ever believed that one.

    • Would you like something to drink? We have water, milk, juice, spiders, Dr Pepper…

    • caller id is illegal in California

There is no law against Caller ID in the state, though there were lengthy debates about making it illegal in the early 1990s.

I genuinely cannot remember or understand why this was a debate. How much money were call centers throwing at politicians?

      • It doesn’t look like it was a lobbying thing. More a pro privacy thing. A ton of Californians had unlisted numbers and didn’t want to be revealed, or victims could be tracked by their abusers through caller ID, and privacy advocates said that people shouldn’t have their number public without their consent.

but they couldn’t figure out how to regulate it properly, so the issue was eventually dropped.

  • When I was a curious teenager I put my wiener in the mouth of a Snapple bottle, and then flew into a panic when it expanded and the bottle got stuck.

Coulda been worse. I heard about someone who as a kid put a really strong elastic band used to castrated bulls on their weiner. After being unable to pee they finally told their parents. The emergency room had trouble figuring out how to cut it off without causing damage… But they did successfully.

  • TIL Snapple apparently still exists. I haven’t seen Snapple since the early 90s.

I just wish they’d bring back their root beer. Man, that shit was good.
