Surfacing the result of how they are censoring the results might be a canary in a coal mine, we can’t say we’re doing it but we can make the top result someone else saying we’re doing it.

It wasn’t a direct reference, but definitely inspired by Dr. cox.
I mean he could just make the platform “we’ll unblock the porn” and nothing else and win a majority in the first election.
A year or two ago the YouTube channel primitive technologies did a video where he built under floor heating for his hut with an outdoor fire. It reminded me of how the Romans heated their floors.
Oh I agree but it would be nice if he’d have listened to me years ago and started using a password manager at least. I know he’ll never go full self hosting, but come on at least use Bitwarden!

What these companies didn’t take the time to understand is, A.I. is a tool to make employees more efficient, not to replace them. Sadly the vast majority of these companies will also fail to learn this lesson now and will get rid of A.I. systems altogether rather than use them properly.
When I write a document for my employer I use A.I. as a research and planning assistant, not as the writer. I still put in the work writing the document, I just use A.I. to simplify the tedious data gathering and organizing.
Refuge here, moved to joined a new server, couldn’t get my subscriptions moved over so I just resubscribed to each one manually, annoying but not the end of the world.

True for the organization as a whole, but a pissed off engineer or two could have done it, and the people above them are just leaning on “it’s the algorithm” since they don’t agree with the censorship either.
I’m sure the C Suite will step in and make them change it but it takes time for them to address the issue.
I’m not saying that’s what is going on, but I’ve witnessed my own department head pull similar tricks, albeit his tricks weren’t as high stakes as this would be.
