• Friend, with all due respect, there are some people here who belong in a hospital. Mental illness.

    • A sizeable chunk of us were banned from Reddit. I’m convinced some of those bans were justified.

      • yeah I think that is a big thing people have to keep in mind with the internet. I try my best to love you all but I don’t make decisions with what I “learn” from hanging it out internet spaces. I sometimes laugh at myself when I get to upset by something.

Whenever I’m in too deep in an online argument I’m comforted by the wise words of one Rick Sanchez:

“Your boos mean nothing, I’ve seen what makes you cheer.”

Today sure has one with a tool bag posing anti trans stuff and non tagged nsfw posts.

Some women wanted to donate me her retirement savings so I open a homeless shelter in Germany but that’s it.

  • Not seeing it out here in the .world instance, but then again I’m not engaging with trans, autism, or furry communities as much as I think that you are. Sounds as though you’ve caught a homophobe troll’s attention, owing to the KYS & astroturfing DM, and false reporting. Bounce this upstairs to your instance’s mods, and let others know who they are.

I only had a DM once but never happened again, maybe a troll targeted you? The dm, btw

    • 3 months

No I didn’t, though. There is legitimately someone who has been doing this stuff for at least eight months now and I originally thought it was another antiyanks attack, but other admins told me that transphobia is untypical of antiyanks.

Also if you can link the account, I would gladly ban it at least from Feddit.

    • Wow… that… I have no words for that. That is beyond despicable. I had a feeling things were bad when I saw the governance thread but that’s way way worse than I thought.

    • Exhibit what 200 of why that comm shouldn’t be used by anyone and commentors there are immediately suspicious

If you have a bit of time, please collect evidence of when that targeting and harassment happens. I’ve already seen a few accounts using low-quality /c/MoG posts to try and demonize .ml, lemmygrad and hexbear so it’s useful to have a post or posts to point to showing that it’s a harassment circlejerk, not the credible spectators they pretend to be.

I think this may depend on the instance you’re on. The “trans” spam bot hit up my sister’s account but she’s on fedia/mbin. I haven’t noticed the other abuses per se to be like. Rampant or anything.

    But I also don’t check DM’s.

  • No. I blocked all the anime, furry, porn, and any aggressive subs that consistently read like screaming. If that matters, maybe do the same.

  • 3 months

Nope, haven’t noticed. I do see a lot of spam removed whenever I look at the mod log though. Some level of spam is always to be expected.

  • Not spam per se, but there does seem to be a sharp uptick in brand new accounts making tons of posts and getting banned. It seems every day I see numerous posts made by users that are already banned by whatever community they posted in (by the time I see them.) Mods must be working overtime.

Porn spam was coming from someone named Draconic_NEO (I think there is a legit account named @[email protected]) with many fake account

  • Seen two spam comments today.

I have everything sorted by new though and they were gone shortly after reporting.

  • It happens. A very highly intelligent user will occasionally post something in a lot of communities and gets a rise out of downvotes, annoyed comments, and blocks. It’s annoying but that is often the nature of the internet. Report, block, and move on.

It’s only the very highly intelligent users who do this. So it doesn’t happen a lot.

Don’t engage with anybody you don’t know well on DMs. And if some other very highly intelligent person goes to the effort of sending you abuse via DM, take pride that you really got under their skin. Ignore it if you can.

    • in Fediverse, the trolls are the reporters, blockers, indignant ones…

“oh, you talked with ChatGPT” BLOCK

      “oh, you use cryptos” BLOCK

“oh, you said that in left wing there are thieves” BLOCK

“oh, you don’t know what is queer” BLOCK

(they said in from sites hosted in Google Cloud)

      • This seems to be an unpopular opinion but i personally had someone block me for presumably being too friendly and sincere, after an initial comment where i had agreed with them and defended their downvoted comment.

A second person blocked me after i pointed out that the person they where calling ai/a bot is in fact a well loved moderator of the community they tried to be a part of and they where simply misreading the room.

I don’t really mind that people remove themselves but it does worry me that tolerance of others have gotten so low that ideologically similar people will label each other enemies based on very basic misunderstandings of topics they agree about.

        • maybe I don’t express it well, but the concept is right… you can’t sell me the bottled intolerance like superiority

      • oooh. im a big block proponent so you know if you can’t be a troll you can be a troll supporter. oh um. mmmm. I guess that only works with athletics.
