Now we just need an antibody that gets rid of the Epstein class specifically.

Middle school had me convinced that herpes was one of the worst things you could get and that having it would make you an outcast weirdo.

College taught you to just ignore the cold sore?

This could be a big deal for MS, which is thought to be related to Epstein-Barr.

Tbh it’s linked to a ton of things (lots of cancers), so it’d be a pretty big deal in general if they’re able to scale it into something widely usable.

It’s herpes simplex 1, the one known for cold sores. Although HSV2, known for genital herpes, has start becoming a cause of cold sores.

Herpes simplex 1 (HSV-1) is not EBV (herpesvirus 4 aka HHV-4). Right family, but different virus.

EBV causes mono aka glandular fever: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epstein–Barr_virus

No it’s not, at least not according to Wikipedia.

Epstein-Barr virus is a different herpes virus that causes mono, which is not the same as HSV1 with its cold sores
